April Wolfe is a writer, filmmaker, and the lead film critic at LA Weekly. Her work has previously appeared in Vice, The Atlantic, CityLab, Bust, Marie Claire, Flaunt, Bullett, and other publications. She's a fellow of the USC Los Angeles Institute for the Humanities and was recently the recipient of the A Public Space Emerging Writer Fellowship and Iceland Writers Retreat Alumni Award for her fiction writing. She was associate producer on the feature film Molly Takes a Trip (2015) and has written and directed numerous shorts. As a journalist, her work has been recognized by the LA Press Club, as a storyteller, she's appeared on PRI's Snap Judgment multiple times, and as a podcaster, she hosts/co-hosts the film podcasts Switchblade Sisters and Who Shot Ya? for the Maximum Fun network.
