An award-winning entertainment journalist who has contributed to dozens of international and domestic publications both as a freelancer and through a variety of masthead tenures, Brent Simon is a former three-term president of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. His book “The Dreamer’s Path: Twin Peaks and David Lynch the Actor” approaches the filmmaker’s canon from a distinctive angle, unpacking Lynch’s surprisingly lengthy list of credits as an onscreen performer, and by extension where and how this unique and heretofore unexplored part of his enormous creative output intersects with his broader embrace of “the art life.” A 2024 National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Award finalist for Best Film Critic, Simon was in 2017 honored with the International Media Award at the 54th annual ICG Publicists Awards.
