Brooke C. Obie is an award-winning film/TV critic, journalist, editor, author and screenwriter whose work Brooke C. While serving as the Managing Editor for the Black film/TV site Shadow & Act, she was named to The Root 100 Most Influential African Americans of 2019 for her work challenging the movie Green Book and highlighting Hollywood’s tendency to whitewash Black stories. Her debut novel BOOK OF ADDIS: CRADLED EMBERS won fiction awards from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, the Phillis Wheatley Book Awards and Accra International Book Festival.
