Stephen Farber was president of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association from 2012-2016. He is currently a critic for The Hollywood Reporter. He has also written reviews and articles on film for the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, the Daily Beast, Film Comment, New West, Esquire, and many other national publications.
In partnership with Landmark Theatres, Farber presents a popular screening series called Reel Talk, in which he presents new movies and discusses them with cast members and filmmakers. Farber is also the host and co-producer of a series of classic films, presented at Laemmle Theatres.
Stephen Farber has published several books on film: The Movie Rating Game (Public Affairs Press, 1972); Hollywood Dynasties (Delilah, 1984); Outrageous Conduct: Art, Ego, and the Twilight Zone Case (Arbor House/Morrow, 1988); and Hollywood on the Couch (Morrow, 1993). A new book, Cinema ’62: The Greatest Year at the Movies, will be published by Rutgers University Press in March 2020.
