The Los Angeles Film Critics Association is excited to announce that we have established a $500 scholarship for an aspiring female film critic who is a student at a Los Angeles-area community college. We encourage women of color to apply. 

Applicants should email the following materials to LAFCAscholarship@gmail.com by Sunday, Dec. 10:

• a cover letter including

• a description of their experience and/or aspirations in film criticism

• their school, year, and area of study

• three writing samples such as a movie review written for the school paper, a paper for a film studies class, a personal blog post, etc.

The recipient will receive a $500 award, as well as an invitation for her and a guest to attend LAFCA’s annual awards dinner held at the InterContinental hotel in Century City, California, on January 13, 2018. Feel free to email © 2024 The Los Angeles Film Critics Association
